ne night we camped in the Anza-Borrego State Park in Southern California. At night, the coyotes had a party. The expression "yipping' it up" must have come from that. Much later than 9:00 and the place is blazing mad dogs and Englishmen style. It's kind of like the line in Rudyard Kipling's "The Road to Mandalay" ... the dawn comes up like thunder. This view is about 7:30 in the morning You can see the sun already frying the landscape over there behind this little pile of rocks where the coyote party was in the cool of night. Smart beasties, coyotes.
