dirt road that runs between Latrobe and Michigan Bar on the Cosumnes River, takes you back in time and into another dimension. It's one of those magic places. Nobody lives out there except in one ramshackle old two story box of a house that looks as if it had been built a hundred years before paint was invented. These strange rocks stick up out of the ground, pointing at the sky like missiles. The air has a peculiar shimmer.

I like it, so I painted this picture. Please excuse the dozen microscopic swans. They aren't really that small. It is because the painting is pretty large ... 36 x 48 inches ... and has been squeezed down a lot to get it onto this page in one piece. There aren't any prints of this one yet. I'll consider making some if I get enough people asking. Meanwhile, here is an original acrylic painting on heavy weight linen, stretched on museum bars, in a large frame that compliments it well and brings the whole thing out to 45 by a bit over 57 inches. It's about as large as you can hang in a regular house. Any bigger and you have to make a choice between furniture and people. The kind of painting that makes the room. Realism you can walk into and hike through the grassy hills. It deserves a good home with good lighting.

It's only $4800, and that includes the frame. As for shipping it, we'll need to talk about that. If you're close, I may just bring it to you. I sent this painting to a show in New York, where it was picked for a special extended exhibit in the National Arts Club ... and the freight cost discouraged me from sending any more large pictures to exhibits, no matter how prestigious.
